Jeff Grippin:
Bio His interest in the visual and performing arts began at an early age. He was a drama major in college, but it quickly became clear that acting wasn’t for him and, after 2 years, he moved to Arizona to pursue a career as a welder. After returning to the Albany area he went to work for a bridge building company as a welder. Having taught himself to play guitar in college, when he wasn't working he was playing music as a solo artist and in several bands. After 12 years in construction he started his own welding business which gave him more flexibility to pursue both his music and his enjoyment of metal sculpture. A lot of the pieces that he has built over the last 40 years have contained both elements, and his recent sculpture "Songs in C" certainly melds his prominent interests.
